The Thai Trade Centre in New York recently announced a campaign, inviting people in the US to share their love of Thai cuisine on social media to be in with a chance of winning a trip to Thailand, worth up to US$5,000.
The campaign, called “Love Thai Food, Eat Thai Rice,” aims to promote Thai Hom Mali Rice in the US market through the social media handle @EatThaiRice.
Ketsuree Vijaranakorn, director of the Thai Trade Centre, expressed her excitement about introducing Thai Hom Mali Rice, recognising the widespread love for Thai food among Americans.
“This initiative aims to reach new audiences and to educate them about the qualities and unique characteristics of various types of Thai rice,” she said, adding “Thai cuisine, including Thai rice, holds significant potential in the US market. We hope that this campaign will increase consumer awareness of the diverse and rich flavours of Thai food and Thai rice.”
The prize package includes a trip for two to Thailand, with an airfare credit of US$2,000, a 2-night stay and dinner for two. The winner will also be get a round trip to Hua Hin, including a 2-night stay and a Thai dinner for two.
To enter the social media contest, applicants have until July 28th to share their experience and are required to follow the official social media accounts @EatThaiRice on Instagram and Facebook.
On either platform, participants should post a photo or video cooking a Thai rice dish or an image or video of Thai rice while dining out at a Thai restaurant.
They must include the hashtag #EatThaiRice in the caption to be eligible and tag a friend so they can enter to win as well.
Winners will be announced on August 1 via @EatThaiRice on Instagram and Facebook.
