We started our travel to Thailand on 16th Dec 2021. We traveled from the UK, Jeremy with a British passport and I have a Norwegian passport. Both countries qualified for the entry without quarantine.
There was a few things we had to sort before getting there so here is a quick list over everything we needed for our travel:
– Proof of vaccination
– Negative PCR- test
– Test and Go package
– Thailand Pass
– Travel insurance
Remember to PRINT EVERYTHING!
For the proof of vaccination all we needed was to be double vaccinated at last 14 days prior. For the PCR-test we went with Randox and got our results the next day right after midday. The test has to be 48h old but they count from day to day (2 days) so we took ours on 14th Dec 11:00 am and traveled on 16th Dec 10:00 pm.
For Test and Go packages I have heard of a few scams so please be vary when booking it. It has to be a SHS Extra+ hotel and we ended up with The Landmark Hotel in Bangkok as they had free cancellation in case something happened. We paid around 200 pounds for the whole say including taxi, tests and stay. We had to send some info to the hotel prior so they could book us in with the local hospital to take the PCR tests when we arrived. As we arrived after 6 pm we got the results after midday next day, around 2-3 pm I think.
Thailand Pass was pretty straight forward, they will ask you for a copy of your passport, vaccination status, booking confirmation from you “Test and Go hotel” and Travel insurance. The Travel Insurance has to cover medical expenses for at least 50 000 USD.
All in all we felt really safe traveling to Thailand. We also made sure to no go out and about a week before we traveled to make sure we didn’t pick up anything last minute. When we got to Singapore airport (Changi airport) we also had stay in a waiting area the whole time. Here in Thailand they were masks everywhere (at least in Bangkok).
Hope this Thailand Covid edition was helpful and please let me know if you have any other questions.
