Thailand discovered a total of 8,167 daily Covid-19 infections with 14 additional deaths in the past 24 hours, the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today, January 13th.
The fatalities were 8 men and 6 women with the most numbers recorded in Nakhon Ratchasima with 3. All of them were Thai nationals. The age range was between 32 and 87 years old.
Most of them were reported with underlying health conditions, including hypertension (7), diabetes (2), hyperlipidemia (3), obesity (4), and kidney disease (2).
Of the new cases, 7,784 were found in hospitals and medical services (which includes contact tracing cases), 78 were from a proactive approach at previously reported clusters, 66 were from prisons, and the remaining 239 were imported cases.
A number of 70,590 patients are still under treatment/isolation/medical care. Of that, 520 patients are in critical condition including 110 on ventilators. This is roughly 0.73 percent of cases that are critical while 21.1 percent of that is critical enough for a ventilator.
Regarding the non-prison local infections, the highest number of patients were reported in Chonburi with 832, followed by Bangkok with 790, Samut Prakan with 625, Nonthaburi with 468, Phuket with 381, and Khon Kaen with 337.
A total number of 499,355 people nationwide have received Covid-19 vaccines in the past 24 hours. Of that, 49,703 people had received their first shots, 116,093 people had received their second shots, and 333,559 people had received their third shots. This is roughly 71.7% of the total Thai population who have had their first shot of a Covid-19 vaccine, 65.5% who have had a second shot and are fully vaccinated, and 12.4% have had a third booster shot.
As of today, 3,845 people fully recovered in the past 24 hours and have been released from field hospitals and quarantine centers. Thailand has now reached a total of 2,300,457 cases with 2,207,980 recoveries and a total of 21,883 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
