A Thai woman filed a complaint with Pattaya police, claiming a man posing as a police officer grabbed her breasts in a nightclub on South Pattaya Road early on July 9th, 2024.
39-year-old Ms. Aim, whose real name was withheld by police to protect her privacy, told police that the incident occurred while she was sitting at the nightclub to enjoy a song and a drink. She said that a group of tourists was exiting the establishment when a group of 10 men approached her to say hello.
One of the men, claiming to be a police officer from Rayong province, struck up a conversation with Ms. Aim, which she engaged in out of politeness. The man briefly left Ms. Aim’s table only to return shortly after and proceeded to grope her, reaching inside her shirt and touching her breasts, Ms. Aim said.
The victim told Pattaya police this act caused her significant distress. When she shouted, the man’s company, who had been observing the situation, stood up and threatened her, claiming that the man was a police officer. However, Ms. Aim retorted that the man still had no right to inappropriately touch her despite his alleged occupation.
Ms. Aim then contacted the Pattaya police, and when officers arrived at the nightclub, the group of men fled the scene through the back door of the establishment.
Ms. Aim filed a police report and demanded legal action against the lewd individual. The Pattaya police are currently investigating the case and identifying the suspect.
