One bystander killed, two participants seriously injured during vocational students fight in Bangkok last night

Bangkok –

A Thai national was killed and two more were injured while two groups of vocational students were fighting and firing weapons in front of a gas station in the Bang Khun Thian district of Bangkok yesterday night, December 29th.

Police officers from the Samae Dam Police Station and rescue volunteers arrived at the scene around 10:00 PM. after being alerted of the shooting incidents, involving vocational students and gas station employees.

Blood spatters was found around the scene. Three injured people were rushed to nearby hospitals, unfortunately, one was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital. His name was only known as Phummek, 20 years old, and was reportedly a bystander and not involved in the conflict, having been hit by a stray bullet.

A gas station employee, whose name was only known as Kim, a Myanmar national, was seriously injured with a bullet wound to his left breast through the left shoulder. Another injured man, who was only known as Patcharaphon, was reportedly shot in his stomach.

According to a local witness named Thatthai, he was working as a mechanic near the gas station when two groups of more than 10 vocational students were spotted riding motorcycles and shooting firearms at one another along Sakae Ngam Road. Several shots were heard during the chaos, ultimately leading to the death and injuries. The two groups were reportedly from rival schools.

Samae Dam Police are investigating the case and tracking those who might be involved from nearby CCTV footage cameras for legal proceedings.
