Hundreds of refugees have fled across the Myanmar border into Thailand on Friday, after fierce fighting between the Myanmar army and the Karen National Union.
The rebel group said an area in Karen state and Kayin state had been struck.
Fighting has been going on for more than a week following a raid to seize dissidents opposed to the military coup.
But it now seems to be growing in intensity.
