Move Forward party leader Pita Limjaroenrat declared the victory of his party’s candidate, Pongsathon Sonpechnarintr, in the Rayong Constituency 3 by-election on Sunday, as he thanked voters for their support.
According to unofficial results, Pongsathon garnered 39,296 votes against his closest rival, Democrat candidate Banyat Jetanachan, who scored 26,466 and Sub-Lt Ruangchai Sombatphuthorn of Rang Ngarn Sang Chart party, who received 881 votes.
Speaking at the Perm Shot coffee shop in Klaeng district, Pita said that he will use this political momentum in future by-elections, until the next general election.
He also said that he will now return to Bangkok to supervise Move Forward MPs in grilling the government over its policy statement in parliament today and tomorrow.
