Banglamung, August 9th, 2024– Mr. Wikit Manarojkij, Banglamung District Chief, recently chaired a monthly meeting with village headmen and kamnans at the Sala Prachakom meeting room, Bang Lamung District Office. The focus of the meeting was on the strict enforcement of policies against gambling and drugs.
Mr. Manarojkij highlighted two critical policies that must be rigorously followed: the prohibition of gambling and the crackdown on drug-related activities. He expressed concern over reports of gambling in certain areas that had not been communicated by the responsible village headmen or kamnans. He emphasized that any failure to report such activities would result in severe disciplinary action without the possibility of appeal.
The District Chief reiterated that gambling is strictly prohibited under the policy of the Chonburi Governor and Thai law. Given the vast area of Banglamung District, he urged all village headmen and kamnans to be vigilant and proactive in monitoring and reporting any gambling activities.
Regarding the drug problems, Mr. Manarojkij noted that Banglamung District has established checkpoints to enforce the law strictly. These checkpoints have led to numerous arrests and the discovery of various offenses. The aim is to enhance security and ensure effective law enforcement in the district.
Looking ahead, Mr. Manarojkij mentioned plans to provide training for village headmen and sub-district headmen in investigation and arrest case preparation, as well as shooting practice, contingent on budget availability. This training is intended to enhance their capabilities and ensure more effective and thorough operations.
In addition to these discussions, the District Chief invited all attendees to participate in an activity to honor Her Royal Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother on her birthday anniversary on August 12, 2024. The event will take place in front of Banglamung District Office starting at 7:00 a.m.
