At least 9 people were killed and more than 115 injured when flares, firecrackers and other pyrotechnics, being kept at a warehouse in Su-ngai Kolok district of Thailand’s Narathiwat province, exploded this afternoon (Saturday).
Several houses located near the warehouse, which belongs to Weerawat Phanich storage in Muno sub-district, were damaged by the force of the explosions and ensuing fire.
Latest report indicate that an unknown number of people were trapped in the burning houses, as the emergency services attempted to extinguish the blaze. Their efforts were impeded by continuing pyrotechnic detonations.
